NAMIC Prayer Service & Breakfast
Sunday, Sept. 16, 8:00 a.m.
A Sunday morning tradition, this event is non-denominational, and includes song, scripture readings, and a brief presentation. This year, we will welcome Mr. Richard De Witt, President and COO of Marketplace Chaplains USA, an organization of workplace chaplains caring for the American work force. He has gone about his tasks with a caring passion, and a true heart for workers and their families. As President and COO, he now leads more than 2,500 Chaplains across 43 states, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and 4 other countries.
Tickets to this breakfast are $38, and can be purchased when registering for the convention. A limited number will be available for sale on Saturday at the NAMIC registration desk.
Fun Run and Walk to Benefit St. Baldrick’s Foundation
Tuesday, Sept. 18, 6 - 7:15 a.m.
The 8th annual running of this event will take place in the area surrounding the Gaylord Texan Resort. It’s a great way to work in a healthy activity during the busy convention schedule – with a leisurely fun run (or walk!) around the resort property. And it also benefits a worthwhile cause, raising money for St. Baldrick’s Society. A traditional finish line awaits runners at the end of the route.
Participants can choose between a 5K run or a 3K walk, and all participants receive commemorative T-shirts. A light continental breakfast will be available.
Please indicate on your convention registration form if you are planning to participate in the Fun Run and Walk. You can also sign up once you arrive at the resort at the NAMIC Registration Desk, starting Saturday, Sept. 15 through the day on Monday, Sept. 17.
Registration cost is $40 per person. Proceeds from this event will benefit the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.

The St. Baldrick’s is about shaving your head in solidarity of children who lose their hair during cancer treatment. It all began in 1999, when three insurance executives turned their industry’s St. Patrick’s Day party into a benefit for kids with cancer. They turned heads – and opened wallets – of colleagues for the benefit of children’s cancer research. Between 2000 and 2006, more than $20 million has been raised and more than 26,000 heads have been shaved!
NAMIC Merit Award Breakfast
Tuesday, Sept. 18
All recipients of the NAMIC Merit Award are encouraged to purchase a ticket to this networking event, held on Tuesday morning of the convention. The guest speaker will be announced at a later date.
The NAMIC Merit Society is designed to encourage professional development of individuals associated with NAMIC member companies and to recognize those who demonstrate educational attainment and service or contributions through NAMIC or state/provincial association activities.
Tickets to this breakfast are $40, and can be purchased when registering for the convention. A limited number will be available for sale at the NAMIC registration desk.
Professional Farm Mutual Manager Classes
The NAMIC Professional Farm Mutual Manager courses provide 36 comprehensive hours of education and information on vital issues that will benefit both the new and experienced farm mutual managers in the areas of strategic business management, financial management, and underwriting and claims. Completion of all three modules and one additional prescribed seminar, excluding the Annual Convention, makes a qualified farm mutual manager eligible for the PFMM designation.
This year the Underwriting & Claims module of the Professional Farm Mutual Manager (PFMM) curriculum will be featured. These sessions are designed for those working towards their PFMM designation.
To register or review more information on this module go to PFMM at Convention.
