Mary Matalin Shares a Political Perspective on the 2004 Presidential Election

Political commentator Mary Matalin appeared as guest speaker for the final business session of the 109th convention, bringing her own unique view of the Washington scene and Presidential election. Matalin discussed the inner workings of political campaigns, the relative merits of polls, election year advertising and the personalities involved.

The first White House official to hold the double title of assistant to President George W. Bush and counselor to Vice President Dick Cheney, Matalin enjoys a high-profile career as a political commentator, in print and on the airwaves. The host of CNN's Crossfire, she also hosted The Mary Matalin Show, and award-wining three-hour program on the CBS Talk Radio Network. She has recently appeared with her husband, campaign strategist James Carville, on PBS's K-Street, about the world of powerful political consultants.

Mary Matalin's appearance was sponsored by American Re-Insurance Company.
