Gov. Lincoln Chafee approved legislation June 20 eliminating the requirement that auto insurers use a "work completed form" in connection with auto repairs. The law took effect upon its signing.
At a member company's request, NAMIC confirmed with the Department of Business Regulation that as of June 20 insurers no longer have to complete and send the Work Completion Certification Form to consumers despite the requirement in Regulation 78 that they do so. DBR will be amending Regulation 78 in the coming weeks to reflect this legislative change.
