NAMIC Former Chair Sandy Parrillo, President and CEO of Providence Mutual Fire Insurance is on Capitol Hill today participating in a GOP Women’s CEO Roundtable to discuss jobs and the economy. Parrillo was one of only six female CEOs invited to partake in this distinguished event featuring prominent female Members of Congress and numerous Capitol Hill staffers.
Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) convened today’s panel to learn from industry leaders what Congress can and should do to get the economy back on track and encourage job growth. Topics being covered will include current economic policies and regulations that have affected business growth, private-sector job creation and company advancement.
Parrillo plans to discuss the marketplace uncertainty created by Congressional policies. Duplicative and onerous regulatory burdens created by the Dodd-Frank Act being considered on Capitol Hill have made it difficult for companies to plan for any long-term growth. Main Street companies, like NAMIC’s members, are being affected by this uncertainty and she and other CEOs are asking Congress to help businesses prosper by moving forward with legislation that puts certainty back in the market.
Complete coverage of the panel, including CEO and Congressional participants, will be in tomorrow’s Advocacy Update.
