Punctuating the new leadership environment in Tennessee is SB 777, allowing for a 15 percent variable flex-rating system, wherein an insurer may apply the rate the day it is filed with the Department of Insurance. The measure specifies that a filing made by an insurer for personal risk insurance that provides for an overall statewide rate increase or decrease of up to 15 percent in the aggregate for all coverages.
