We’re an industry that exists to help people recover – to fight back from devastating loss. Perhaps this is why so many big-hearted individuals work in the property/casualty insurance industry. In 2000, three insurance execs in New York City decided to dedicate their St. Patrick’s Day party to raising money to find a cure for children’s cancer. By shaving their heads to show empathy for kids undergoing chemo, they raised nearly $100,000, and St. Baldrick’s was born. Since 2000, events have taken place in 28 countries and 50 states and nearly $100 million has been raised to find a cure for children’s cancer.
