For those of us who consider ourselves political junkies, this last week has been nothing if not exciting. By now, I am sure you are all aware of the fact that, with 11 races yet to be called, the GOP is projected to win control of the U.S. House of Representatives with around a 64-seat gain. That's 10 seats greater than the “Republican Revolution” in 1994. The Democrats, by contrast, have not held so few seats since 1947 when they had 188. To give it even more of a historical perspective for you, this wave election saw the largest swing in the House since the 1948 election when Democrats picked up 75 seats and majority control of the 81st Congress. Add to that the likely seven Senate seats, and we were looking at a big night for the GOP last Tuesday.
