House Passes Sweeping Financial Regulatory Reform Legislation

After almost a year of debate, lobbying, and legislative maneuvering, on Friday, December 11, 2009, the U.S. House of Representatives passed its version of comprehensive financial services regulatory reform. H.R. 4173, the Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2009, passed by a slim margin of 223 to 202.
