Temporary Extension of Flood Program Expected After Recess

With an ambitious agenda and promises to address the financial crisis, energy and climate change, healthcare, appropriations, and immigration, Congress will not have time to deal with the reform and reauthorization of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) before its September 30 expiration date. Instead they have decided to do yet another temporary extension until March 31, 2010, which will be introduced in the House of Representatives immediately following the July 4 recess.
