Maine: Sponsor Drops Support of NAMIC-Opposed Bad Faith Bill, Cites Bureau Bulletin, Industry Testimony

The Committee on Insurance and Financial Services gave bad faith legislation opposed by NAMIC an “ought not to pass” recommendation at the request of the bill’s sponsor who explained his change of heart by citing a bulletin issued by the Maine Bureau of Insurance as well as “very compelling” testimony from the insurance industry.
