NAMIC has learned that the House Financial Services Committee will hold a hearing titled “How Should the Federal Government Oversee Insurance?” on May 14 to address the issue of insurance regulation. The proposed witnesses will be academics and economists looking at the issue of whether the federal government should be playing a more prominent role in oversight of the insurance industry.
