Minnesota: Senate Committees Address One-way Loser Pays Legislation

The trial bar’s “One-way Loser Pays” bill had a busy time in the Minnesota Senate last week. The original SF 528 was very similar to the punitive, unbalanced House File 417, which is awaiting consideration on the House floor. NAMIC and its trade association partners, the Insurance Federation of Minnesota and the Minnesota Association of Farm Mutual Insurance Companies, have strongly opposed that version of the legislation.
