NAMIC Takes Action to Stop Multiperil Legislation
The reauthorization of the National Flood Insurance Program will be addressed later this year, and it is unclear as to whether this bill will include the controversial wind coverage provision that contributed to a halt in conference proceedings last Congress. However, the issue still remains a priority for Congressman Gene Taylor, D-Miss. On March 3, Taylor introduced the Multiperil Insurance Act of 2009, legislation that would authorize the National Flood Insurance Program to sell windstorm insurance.
