Credit Scoring Study Remains on Back Burner

The “Review of the Use of Credit-Based Insurance Scoring by Insurers” that appeared in draft form last summer seems to be off the table at the current time. The paper, developed by NAIC staff at the request of John Morrison, former Montana commissioner and former chair of the Market Regulation & Consumer Affairs (D) Committee, presented a review of the various studies on credit scoring that were done in the past 10 years along with a brief review of several court cases on credit scoring.
