Attacks on Insurance Scoring Focus of State Legislative Sessions

In an effort to guide NAMIC’s state advocacy team, each year the State Affairs Committee approves for official adoption by the board of directors the National State Legislative Agenda. As with the past several years, the 2009 agenda includes pursuit of rate modernization, opposition to anti-civil justice reform proposals, and protection of underwriting freedom. Unfortunately, NAMIC’s prediction that 2009 would present unprecedented attacks on the use of credit-based insurance scoring appears to be accurate.
