Florida: Rules All the Rage

The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation keeps churning out new proposed rules to re-interpret statute. The latest entry in this category would prohibit insurers from surcharging for not-at-fault accidents for new business as well as renewals. The proposed rule would amend 690-175.008, Unfair Discrimination in Private Passenger Motor Vehicle Insurance Rates – Based on History of Accidents.
