Florida: Insurance Commissioner Heeds Concerns of NAMIC, Others on Workers

Florida Insurance Commissioner Kevin McCarty announced last week that he had disapproved the National Council on Compensation Insurance’s Aug. 27 rate reduction request of 14.1 percent. McCarty ordered NCCI to amend its filing with an additional 4.5 percent rate reduction, bringing the total reduction effective Jan.1, 2009, to 18.6 percent.
