New Mexico: Insurance Industry to Co-sponsor Reception for Citizens, Legislators

The New Mexico Insurance Council, in collaboration with the Albuquerque Museum Foundation, will be sponsoring a reception Sept. 4 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. to facilitate citizen participation in the political process.

"The reception presents a unique venue for companies and organizations to invite key agents and employees to meet with their legislators, local dignitaries, and New Mexico Insurance Department representatives in a casual, yet impressive setting in advance of the general election and ’09 New Mexico legislative session,” explained Carole Walker, executive director, Rocky Mountain Insurance Information Association.

Any insurer, agent, or insurance professional interested in participating in and/or contributing to the funding of this important grassroots advocacy endeavor should contact RMIIA by Aug. 4.

"NAMIC is proud to be participating in this significant grassroots advocacy activity," said Christian J. Rataj, NAMIC's Western state affairs manager. "The reception will be a high-profile event for insurance companies and members of the business community, and will afford citizens interested in the state’s competitive insurance market an opportunity to build personal relationships with their state legislators, insurance regulator, and business community.”

Financial donations to the event should be sent to the Albuquerque Museum Foundation, a 501-(c) 3 Non-Profit. The levels of sponsorship are $500, $1,000 and $2,000. Recognition will be according to sponsorship level. Sponsors will be featured on the day of event with materials and signage according to level and will be recognized at the reception. There is also no charge for legislators or attendees, so this is a way to fund their participation.

The Albuquerque Museum Foundation will be sending printed invitations to all state legislators, policymakers, and New Mexico Insurance Council members.
