Natural Disaster Concerns Addressed by Presidential Contenders

The issue of whether to create a federal natural disaster backstop took center stage among the two presumptive presidential candidates last week, raising concerns about the issue. On the Democratic side, Sen. Barak Obama spoke out strongly in favor of the legislation and noted that his likely Republican rival for the presidency, Sen. John McCain, opposes the idea.
