A Long Summer Could Mean Multiple Insurance Regulatory Hearings

With Congress slated to stay in session until this first week of August, members of Congress might have a lot time on their hands. With politics halting progress on many issues and most of the expected major legislation already out of committee, many committee chairmen, including Barney Frank, D-Mass., and Chris Dodd, D-Conn., might now have time to tackle some broader issues that they would normally not have time to address. There is already early indication that both the Senate Banking Committee and the House Financial Services Committee will hold hearings on insurance regulatory reform.
