Louisiana: Grassroots Lobbying Effort Needed to Push Pro-insurance Bill

Louisiana SB 160, legislation that would allow insurance companies to offer deductibles that are appropriate for different regions of the state, will be discussed by the Senate Insurance Committee tomorrow.

NAMIC sent an Action Alert to members yesterday asking for help with a Coalition to Insure Louisiana grassroots effort to encourage passage of SB 160. The CIL believes this legislation is an important step toward improving the private property insurance market in Louisiana.

“NAMIC is a member of the CIL,” notes Liz Reynolds, NAMIC's Southeast state affairs manager, “and we urge member companies doing business in Louisiana to contact members of the Senate Insurance Committee and express support for SB 160.”
