Kansas: NAMIC-supported Flex-rating Bill Passes Committee

The Kansas House Insurance Committee overwhelmingly approved SB 560, a proposal to adopt the NAIC’s Flex-Rating Model Act. Joe Thesing, NAMIC's director – state affairs, twice testified in favor of the proposal before the committee. In his testimony, Thesing emphasized that the bill is a bi-product of a unanimous recommendation made last year from Kansas Insurance Department Fee Modernization and Rating Laws Task Force and that the bill was unanimously approved by the Senate.
