Florida: Senate Select Committee Recommendations Dash Hopes for Solvency Considerations

The Florida Senate Select Committee on Property Insurance Accountability released its legislative recommendations March 13. "Unfortunately, the comments by the committee members during their hearings that seemed to indicate a greater focus on solvency did not appear to translate into recommendations along those lines," said Liz Reynolds, NAMIC's Southeast state affairs manager. "We are faced with even more stringent proposals regarding ratemaking."
