Rhode Island: Coastal Commission to Meet Tomorrow

The House commission formed to study the effects of natural disasters on the state’s homeowners insurance market will meet Jan. 9 in Room 313 of the Rhode Island State House at the "Rise of the House.”

The meeting will be the commission’s first of the year and the first since it stopped meeting during the summer months. A meeting that had been scheduled for Dec. 13 in Charlestown was cancelled due to inclement weather. Items from the agenda for that meeting have been included in the agenda for the Jan. 9 meeting. Those include discussion of a commissioned report by the modeling firm AIR Worldwide as well as a bulletin issued by the state's Department of Business Regulation.

The commission is slated to issue a final report on its activities by March.
