Louisiana: Legislation Placing Insurers Under Attorney General Still Pending

House Bill 744, which would add another layer of regulation on insurers by eliminating their exemption under Louisiana's Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law enforced by the attorney general, was heard on May 7 in the House Committee on Commerce. It remains pending in the committee.
