Arkansas: Joint Effort Defeats Credit Bill

NAMIC Vice President of Public Policy Robert Detlefsen and Wayne White, president/chairman, Home Mutual Fire Insurance Company and former NAMIC chairman, were instrumental in the withdrawal of HB 1062 by its author, Rep. Stephanie Flowers. The bill would have prohibited the use of credit information when underwriting, rating, or setting premiums for automobile insurance policies. It has now been recommended for study in the Joint Interim Committee on Insurance and Commerce.
