NAMIC’s McCarran-Ferguson war room was highlighted last Thursday in a CNBC segment about the ongoing hearings on the possible repeal of the McCarran-Ferguson Act, which provides insurers a narrow exemption to federal antitrust laws.
The camera crew descended upon NAMIC’s Washington, D.C., offices following the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on McCarran repeal legislation. With NAMIC’s McCarran-Ferguson war room serving as a backdrop, the crew taped NAMIC’s Congressional Contact Program Task Force members as they kicked off the 2007 grassroots program. The crew also interviewed NAMIC Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Carl Parks about the unintended consequences of repealing the Act.
Direct questions to NAMIC’s Senior Director of Federal Affairs Marliss Browder.
