California: PIFC Members Ready to Help Wildfire Victims

Blistering heat is pounding the United States this summer, but no area is getting hit harder than California. With deadly temperatures, high humidity, wind, and dry brush, it is going to be a tough wildfire season.

However, for Californians who have been or will be affected by wildfires, the Personal Insurance Federation of California, a NAMIC state advocacy partner, announced recently that its member companies are ready to assist their policyholders in the event of a wildfire.

Claims personnel of State Farm Insurance Companies, Farmers Insurance Group, Safeco Insurance Company, 21st Century Insurance Group, and The Progressive Group Companies are on alert and prepared to move into any area being threatened by fire to assist their policyholders with their insurance claims.

According to Christian J. Rataj, NAMIC state affairs manager, PIFC and its member companies have continually demonstrated a commitment to providing insurance consumers with readily accessible fire-prevention educational materials and information on how to document and file claims losses.

“PIFC has a long-standing history of being proactive in its advocacy for consumer-safety legislation and in promoting fire-safety consumer education; and, PIFC, on behalf of NAMIC and its other member companies, has been an active supporter of the California Fire Safety Council and a resolute voice at the State Capitol in support of fire-safety legislation,” said Rataj. "NAMIC applauds our state advocacy partner for using its media channels to disseminate important claims information to insurance consumers.”
