South Carolina/Tennessee: Lawmakers Move on Enacting Asbestos/Silica Claims Bills

Lawmakers in South Carolina and Tennessee moved closer last week to enacting legislation in their respective states dealing with asbestos and silica claims.

In South Carolina, the House voted last Thursday to send Senate Bill 1038, a bill dealing with both asbestos and silica claims, back to the Senate with amendments.

Meanwhile, in Tennessee, lawmakers have forwarded House Bill 3539 to Gov. Phil Bredesen for his signature. HB 3539 deals with silica claims only.
