HB 11, which will amend current state law to allow an insurer the option of not renewing an automobile insurance policy if the motor vehicle is registered in a jurisdiction other than Idaho has passed out of both chambers of the Legislature. The bill will soon be off to Gov. C.L “Butch” Otter for his signature.
NAMIC actively supported this pro-insurance-consumer, pro-underwriting freedom, pro-common-sense legislation because it promotes fair and accurate risk-based automobile insurance underwriting, which benefits citizens of the Idaho.
NAMIC submitted a fact sheet to the committee hearings and contacted members of the Legislature in support of HB 11. NAMIC will be contacting the governor’s office to request his signature on the bill.
