Job Title: Litigation Examiner

Location: Indianapolis, Ind.

Description:
NAMIC Insurance Company (NAMICO) currently has a Litigation Examiner position available at its Indianapolis headquarters in College Park. NAMICO provides professional liability insurance exclusively to the members of the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC) and their agents. This position will be responsible for handling an inventory of Directors & Officers, Insurance Company E & O, and Agents E & O claims. Specific duties includes, but are not limited to:

• Initial file review & identification of coverage issues
• Diary management with appropriate follow-up
• Reserving
• Retention of defense counsel and outside investigators
• Payment of service bills
• Final claims resolution
• Writing loss prevention articles
• Presentation of loss prevention seminars and programs

Qualifications:
The well-qualified candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of claims adjusting experience including a strong background in coverage analysis and litigation. Experience can be in either personal lines or commercial lines, with either property or liability expertise. This individual would preferably have a strong knowledge of tort law, contract law, and liability concepts applicable to professional liability claims. Must have a comfort level with regular overnight travel and making presentations. Good writing skills are necessary to successfully handle the explanatory letters and the writing of loss prevention articles.

Location: Indianapolis, Ind.

Description:
Responsible for handling an inventory of Directors & Officers, Fiduciary Liability (ERISA), Insurance Company E&O, and Agents E&O claims. Specific duties include, but are not limited to: initial file review, identification of coverage issues, diary, reserving, retention of defense counsel and outside investigtors, ongoing review, diary, payment of service bills and final claim resolution. Also responsible for preparing loss prevention articles and delivering loss prevention seminars and programs.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years experience in personal lines insurance (property or liability) and/or commercial insurance lines (property or liability) claim handling.
• Experience in litigation management and/or professional liability claims.
• Ability to travel out of state regularly and occasionally to Canada
• College degree preferred.
• Good computer skills are necessary including the ability to learn new software.
• Good customer service skills and a pleasant demeanor.
• Familiarity of insurance contracts and industry trends.
• Clear criminal record and acceptable MVR are required.
• Must have the ability to get a valid passport.
