ATLANTA (Sept. 23, 2009) John T. Hill officially began his term as chairman of the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC) today during the Annual Convention in Atlanta.
In addition to serving as chairman-elect for the past year, Hill has also served as a member of NAMIC’s Financial Services Task Force and has represented NAMIC before the Senate Banking Committee and a key subcommittee of the House Financial services Committee. Hill also serves as a board member for NCCI Holdings, Inc., and the Insurance Federation of New York (IFNY). He is an advisory board member for the National Insurance Industry Association (NIIA).
Hill, who will serve a one year term as chairman, is president and chief operating officer of Magna Carta Companies in New York, New York. Prior to joining Magna Carta in 1995, Hill spent 14 years with the Home Insurance Company where he served in a variety of financial and executive management roles. Hill is a graduate of Waynesburg College, where he received his bachelor's degree in accounting, and is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of New York.
Married for 25 years, Hill and his wife Gayle have two children, a son and a daughter.
