NAMIC released today its latest Issue Analysis paper, “Consumer Choice in Automobile Repair: The Politics and Economics of Automobile Repair Practices,” examining insurers’ use of aftermarket cosmetic crash parts and direct repair programs. A growing trend within the auto repair industry is the intensified efforts to pass bills restricting consumer options regarding auto repair and deliberately limiting information insurers can make available to consumers.
