CMS Announces Phase-In of Some Medicare Secondary Payer Mandates
The Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services announced that it would be phasing-in certain aspects of the Medicare Secondary Payer reporting requirements. In an announcement released Sept. 30, CMS delayed implementation of the mandatory reporting of settlements, judgments, and awards of certain liability claims – those that do not involve ongoing responsibility for medical bills.
