California: PIFC Files Letter Opposing Unless Amended Small Claims Court Jurisdiction Bill
The Senate Judiciary Committee will hold a public hearing April 12 on SB 221, Small Claims Court Jurisdiction. The committee is composed of five members, three Democrats and two Republicans. NAMIC’s national insurer state advocacy partner, the Personal Insurance Federation of California, filed a letter with the committee opposing the bill unless amended because it would adversely impact an important contractual benefit liability insurance policyholders receive from their insurer [i.e. a legal defense].
