The Indiana Supreme Court has found coverage under a farm liability policy for the injured employee of an independent contractor hired to perform painting of buildings on the insureds’ farm. In Everett Cash Mutual Insurance Company v Taylor, decided April 29, Rick and Katrina Taylor were farmers covered by a farm personal liability policy issued by Everett Cash Mutual Insurance Company. The Taylors hired independent contractor Sherlock Contract Painting to paint several buildings on their property. While painting, Sherlock employee Christopher Collis was injured when he was shocked by an electrical wire and fell from a ladder.
