Climate change is an issue that has receded in importance at the NAIC since the group moved during its spring meeting last March to substantially revise the process by which states administer the Insurer Climate Risk Disclosure Survey. The revised survey directs the NAIC to “develop a public report giving information in the aggregate regarding insurer responses” to the survey questions. The job of figuring out what this rather vague instruction means, and how to implement it, has naturally fallen to the Climate Change and Global Warming (EX) Task Force.
