The Senate Begins to Consider Incentives for States to Ban Texting and Cell Phone Use While Driving

Last fall, Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee Chairman Jay Rockefeller (D-WV) introduced legislation that would create incentives for states to ban texting and cell phone use while driving. On Wednesday, June 9, S. 1938—the Distracted Driving Prevention Act—will be placed before the committee for amendments and a vote that would send it to the full Senate for consideration.
