Colorado: Amended Crash Tax Ban Legislation Passes Out of House, On to Senate for Consideration

HB 1059 as amended passed out of the House on third reading on March 2 by a vote of 39-26. The bill is now off to the Senate for consideration. The bill would prohibit local governments from imposing a fee or seeking reimbursement for costs incurred within the boundaries of urban municipalities by first responders in connection with responding to a motor vehicle accident, with exceptions for certain costs for cleaning up hazardous materials and providing ambulance service.
