At the federal level, the Northeast is traditionally solid-blue territory. Democrats still enjoy a 5-point lead among Northeast voters in a generic ballot matchup. But with a stable of strong candidates, Republicans can reclaim at least a few traditional strongholds of the party. With the national wind at their backs, Republicans have a realistic shot at capturing a handful of U.S. House seats in the Northeast, which could dramatically improve their odds of taking back Congress.
