Georgia: Bad Faith Legislation Fails to Advance

Georgia HB 960, bad faith reform, died a quiet death last week when insurance industry lobbyists elected to pull the bill from Senate Judiciary Committee consideration rather than risk what was likely to be a “no” vote due to heavy lobbying by the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association. However, there was enough interest among lawmakers to believe that more progress will be made on the issue in 2013.
