Colorado: Pre-Judgment Interest Tort Reform Bill Introduced, Assigned to House Judiciary Committee

A pro-tort reform bill was introduced last week in the Colorado House to address a current problem with the statutory pre-judgment interest rate for civil cases. Pursuant to current law, if no interest rate is specified, creditors are entitled to receive interest at a rate of 8 percent per annum compounded annually.
