Florida: Moving Into the Session Home Stretch

With less than two weeks remaining in the Florida legislative session, insurance bills still have a long way to go to ensure passage. Quite a few bills are queuing up for consideration in the last days, including the plan to “right size” the Cat Fund, PIP reform; caps on workers’ compensation drug “repackaging”; an expert witness bill to replace the Frye standard with the Daubert standard; a medical malpractice package; Citizens assessments reductions; and “omnibus” legislation on insurer and agent regulations.
