NAMIC Launches New Convention Social Networking Site

INDIANAPOLIS (August 31, 2010) – The National Association of Mutual Insurance Company launched its newest Convention service Monday, Aug. 16. The Convention Connection website, which can be found at http://namic2010.pathable.com, is NAMIC’s newest social networking effort that allows attendees of NAMIC’s 115th Annual Convention to get even more benefit from their Convention experience.

Those who have registered for Convention have received invitations to sign up for the Convention Connection and create profiles for themselves that will allow them to navigate a host of activities the site allows. Things registered users can benefit from by using Convention Connection include:

• Creating personalized schedules that can be printed, sent to Outlook, or to iPhones or BlackBerries;
• Seeing what sessions fellow attendees are signed up for;
• Downloading session handouts and materials;
• Setting up meetings and outings with fellow attendees through community invitations;
• Receiving up-to-the-minute notifications about schedule changes;
• Connecting with speakers and with Exhibit Show vendors during and after Convention;
• And providing NAMIC staff with feedback about like and dislikes of the Convention experience in order to improve future events.

Participation in the site has already taken off –350 registered Convention attendees have already created profiles, and the number is growing every day.

NAMIC worked with Pathable, a Seattle-based technology company that specializes in producing social networking websites for events and connecting organizers, attendees, and vendors through them, to develop the site to best suit NAMIC Annual Convention attendees.

NAMIC’s 115th Annual Convention attendees will have access to the Convention Connection from now July 2011.
