General Session: Engaging the Millennial Generation
The workplace is filled with significant generational differences and associated challenges between Traditionalists, Boomers, Generation X-er’s, and the newest group—the Millennials. The Millennials are the generation born between 1982 and 2000 that were formed by attentive, helicopter parents, schools that propagate high self-esteem, and an ingrained comfort and dependency on technology. The Millennials learn, think, develop differently and must be managed differently. Jason Young, president, LeadSmart, Inc., encourages leaders not to judge but to coach and manage this group differently and to tap into such Millennial talents as speed, social networking, and collaboration. Learn how various generations can complement each other as Jason makes a strong case for leveraging the value and strengths of younger generations in the workplace.
