House Agriculture Committee Complete Marathon Farm Bill Markup
The House Agriculture Committee passed its version of the 2012 Farm Bill early Thursday morning after a marathon markup that lasted nearly 15 hours and was dominated by debate over cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. The committee’s 35-11 approval sends the bill to the floor of the House, though there have been indications by Republican leadership that there is little appetite to put the bill on the calendar
