Illinois: NAMIC Files Amicus Brief on Insurability of Punitive Damages, Unwanted Faxes
NAMIC has filed an amicus brief with the Supreme Court of Illinois urging the court to hold to precedent declaring that punitive damages are not insurable and also asserting that penalties assessed pursuant to the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act are in fact punitive damages.
