Obama Pledges to Review Federal Regulations
On January 18, 2011, President Obama signed an executive order to begin a federal government-wide review of federal regulations. This move comes after criticism from congressional Republicans and the business community that rampant regulation has prevented job growth in the wake of massive legislation such as the health care reform bill and the Dodd-Frank financial services overhaul.
