Jimi Grande, Senior Vice President - Federal and Political Affairs
Jimi Grande joined NAMIC in March of 2007, and serves as senior vice president of federal and political affairs, based in the Washington, D.C., office. In this post, he leads NAMIC’s federal affairs office and is responsible for managing NAMIC’s political involvement programs. He brings a depth of political understanding having worked with top policymakers in Washington for more than 15 years.
Grande came to NAMIC after serving as a political appointee in the Bush administration at the U.S. Department of Labor, where he was a top liaison to Capitol Hill. Prior to his government appointment, Grande worked in the federal affairs department at another property/casualty insurance trade association, where he led its political efforts.
From 1995 through 1998, Grande served as special assistant to former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Newt Gingrich. Upon Speaker Gingrich’s resignation from Congress in 1998, Grande was among the few individuals handpicked to lead the transition team and re-branding effort for Gingrich.
