After debate and testimony spanning three separate meetings since the first of the year, the Florida Banking and Insurance Committee gave a favorable report last Tuesday to SB 408, the 2011 property package. Liz Reynolds, NAMIC Southeast state affairs manager, told committee chair and bill sponsor Sen. Garrett Richter and other committee members in a letter that passage of SB 408 would be seen “as a clear indication that policymakers are ready to make changes that will benefit property casualty insurance consumers and companies immediately and in the future.”
